FIND/ADD NEW CLIENT  

DESCRIPTION

The Add New Client function of Clinical Management for Behavioral Health Services (CMBHS) allows you to add a new person to the CMBHS database after you have determined that they are not already in the system.

 

It is important that your search results are accurate to prevent the creation of duplicate clients, as well as to ensure the availability of client information for continuity of care purposes.

 

If you create a new client profile, you are creating a new person in CMBHS and saying that person has never received services before. It is not just a new client record, it is a new unique person and CMBHS will not connect the records from several different admissions to different service providers to the same person.

 

Before You Start

• Ensure that you have conducted a thorough search of CMBHS before you create a new client.
• If you believe that the system is in error and that there should be a record for the client in CMBHS (for example if your business entity/provider has served the client and the client had an active BHIPS record) contact the DSHS CMBHS Help Desk for assistance.
• When you are going to add a new client to CMBHS, have available as much information about the client as possible so you can complete the process in one session.

How to Add a New Client to CMBHS

• After completing the search process, CLICK ON Find/New Client and the Find/Add New Client page will display.
• Here, you can create a Client Profile for the new client, thereby adding them to the CMBHS database.
• The Client Profile is all that is needed to “Add” a client to CMBHS.
• The client can now be admitted to providers and can receive services.
